Wickersley is a village situated 3 miles from the centre of Rotherham. This area is very near to road junctions for the M1, M18 and A1(M). There is a large shopping arcade and several Restaurants & Bars in Wickersley, which over recent years has become a hive of activity at weekends to enjoy a drink and good meal. There are fantastic infant, primary & secondary Schools in the area and this is one of the reasons why so many people are currently looking to move into the area and house prices are increasing. There is a total mixture of housing in Wickersley ranging from large detached houses to 1 bedroom retirement living apartments.

There is a Doctors surgery in Wickersley along with 3 pharmacists, 3 Churches, 2 Bowling Clubs, a Garden Centre & a Cricket Club. There are also 2 recreational parks within a few minutes’ walk from Wickersley centre. Upon Bawtry Road which runs through Wickersley, are bus routes to Rotherham Town Centre and Sheffield City Centre.


The village is situated approximately 4 miles (6 km) from central Rotherham and 8 miles (13km) from Sheffield City Centre, both to the west south-west.

Bramley shops and services include a Morrisons, the Hotel Ibis, Mcdonalds and a Bannatynes Gym on a development next to the M18 motorway. Across the A631 dual carriageway,  is a development with a Dominos Pizza, VapeHQ and Carphone Warehouse. In Bramley Village there is a Betfred betting shop, a Spar supermarket, takeaways, a computer shop, an off licence, flower shop and a hair salon.


Brecks is a suburb of Rotherham in South Yorkshire, England. It is situated roughly 2 miles from central Rotherham. The A631 road, here called Bawtry Road, forms the southern boundary of the built-up area. Brecks borders the suburb Wickersley. It contains a small arcade of shops to include a hairdressers, Post Office, Fish and chips takeaway and a small Sainsburys mini market. There is also a Beefeater Steakhouse with adjoining Premier Inn.


Thurcroft is a village situated southeast of Rotherham. From 1902 to 1991, it was a close-knit, mining community. It had a population of 5,296, increasing to 6,900. Boasting two new housing estates and surrounded by beautiful countryside for those lazy strolls or energetic runs. Thurcroft village has 3 schools and many convenient local stores. Thurcroft has a regular bus route and only a 5 minute car journey would take you to the motorway network. Neighbouring villages include; Laughton en le Morthen, Brookhouse and Brampton en le Morthern


Before coal was discovered in the area, Maltby was a small agricultural village with a population of around 500 at the start of the 1900s. With the opening of the mine in 1907 miners came from all parts of the UK. The most significant sports clubs were the Miners Institute (‘Maltby Main’ – football and cricket) and Roche Abbey Cricket Club, where Freddy Trueman commented on his illustrious career.


Thrybergh has many schools, including Thrybergh Academy, Thrybergh Primary, Dalton Foljambe Primary, St Gerards Catholic Primary and Thrybergh Fullerton Primary.

To the north west of the village is Thrybergh Park, in which is situated a grade 11 listed country house, built around 1820. The park is home to Rotherham Golf Course, which, which in the past used to hold famous tournaments.

Thrybergh Country Park is situated just outside the village, great for walking the dog and having a cup of tea or ice cream.


Ravenfield is a small village located 3.3miles east of the town of Rotherham. The old village is situated in a fold in the hills just below the 1756 church of Sr. James by John Carr, close to the site of the John Carr’s now demolished Ravenfield Hall. The older part is a former farming village and over the recent years has become a pretty rural community. The village has represented Yorkshire in the national Britain in Bloom competition winning medals on three occasions.

Ravenfield also have a small shopping precinct, 2 pubs, doctors surgery and a well regarded primary school.


Originally a small rural village between Sheffield and Rotherham, within the Saxon Shire of Hallun (Hallamshire), Whiston is now a suburb of Rotherham, close to its border with Sheffield.

Even in 1900 Whiston was still a small rural village, separated from Rotherham by an open countryside. As the century progressed, and particularly after 1945, many fields were built upon and Rotherham expanded to incorporate Whiston although there is still something of a green belt separating Whiston from other local villages.

The village enjoys sporting activities with two cricket clubs, a village football team and cycling club. There are also 3 primary schools, bars and restaurants, shops and 2 churches.


Moorgate is located only 1.8 miles away from Rotherham Town Centre and is a well-regarded area of Rotherham. Close to Rotherham General Hospital, Oakwood High School and Thomas Rotherham College, the highly desirable Duke of Norfolk estate is the largest residential area for professionals and families alike.


Brinsworth is a popular village within Rotherham and has plenty to offer its residents and visitors. With brilliant access to local village amenities, reputable schools, pubs and eateries. Brinsworth is located close to major road networks and motorway links. With Brinsworth being just a stone’s throw away from Meadowhall Shopping Centre and Rotherham Parkgate, the village is understandably in high demand.


Kimberworth is located just 2.2 miles North West of Rotherham Town Centre and is still close by to the City Centre of Sheffield and Meadowhall. The M1 Motorway network is just a short drive away, so you can enjoy plenty days of retail therapy at Meadowhall. With popular eateries and am amenities such as The Drawbridge Pub, Oasis Health Centre and the Superbowl, there is plenty to do.


Whilst Greasbrough is a small suburb in Rotherham, it has its own local council and is just on the doorstep of Brinsworth. Located nearby to reputable schools, amenities, pubs, eateries and local motorway links. Close by to Greasbrough, you’ll find Rotherham Centre, Sheffield City Centre, Meadowhall and Rotherham Retail Park.
