RIGHTMOVE VISITS UP 5% TO RECORD LEVELS – SO IS THERE REALLY A BREXIT CRISIS?

Back to news

Gloomy statements from some industry organisations have suggested the market is in trouble thanks to Brexit uncertainty but Rightmove says visits to its portal in the first fortnight of 2019 are five per cent up on last year.

There have been 4.5m visits each day on average, suggesting an active market.

Meanwhile the portal insists that the number of properties coming to market in the first two weeks in the year are broadly the same as a year ago, with only a two per cent drop and a change in regional emphasis with north of England properties being more in evidence than those from London and the south.

“With Rightmove visits up by five per cent on 2018 and at record levels for this time of year, it is encouraging that potential home-movers are still searching in vast numbers” explains the portal’s housing analyst Miles Shipside.
