MILLHOUSES, S7

The area of Millhouses is highly desirable, set within walking distance from Dobcroft Primary School, walking trails in the woods and of course Millhouses Park with its renowned boating lake, café, tennis courts, bowling club and children’s playground. Millhouses is also well connected via transport links into the city and has a good shopping scene at its centre including the award-winning Marco @ Milano’s, three busy public houses and three national supermarket chains.

ECCLESALL, S11
Ecclesall has long been regarded as one of Sheffield’s premier places to live, residents can enjoy scenic walks in the ancient local woodland and there are some of the best schools in the south west suburbs found close by (High Storrs and Silverdale) alongside excellent amenities which can be found a short drive away at Banner Cross.

DORE, S17

Dore is a highly regarded village with a strong sense of community, situated on the edge of the city, adjoining beautiful countryside which offers opportunities to get away from it all. The village boasts outstanding schools for the family market and a thriving social scene in its fine public houses and award-winning restaurants. The S17 postcode also has a wide range of sports clubs (two golf courses, a driving range, tennis, squash and gym facilities along with two rugby clubs and both Porter and Brunsmeer F. C’s), and superb transport links either into Sheffield or Manchester via bus or train.

NETHER EDGE, S7

Nether Edge is a cosmopolitan neighbourhood of predominately Victorian architecture with substantial stone built houses typically set on broad tree lined avenues. The area was predominately developed in 1856 by George Wostenholm to reflect his love of Boston, Massachusetts as an area for the middle classes to escape from the city centre. Nether Edge is a firm favourite with those from either a medical or academic background due to the close proximity of the main city hospitals and universities. The eclectic mix of independent pubs, restaurants and cafes complement the seasonal market that is held four times a year and this helps to define the area as a popular place to socialise.

BRINCLIFFE, S11

The leafy area of Brincliffe is something of a hidden gem, think large and refined detached houses on generous plots all situated conveniently close to the bright lights of Ecclesall Road and the fashionable area of Sharrowvale. Brincliffe has highly regarded schooling and also has a charming local park and woodland at its centre. 

FULWOOD, S10

Fulwood is a highly desirable and affluent suburb located on the fringe of the beautiful Mayfield Valley and yet conveniently only two or three miles west of the city centre. The area was formerly an ancient settlement and village situated on the Porter Brook and with excellent schooling and local amenities close by Fulwood continues to be one of the most desirable places to live in The Steel City. With demand being so high properties can often change hands for sky high prices.

RANMOOR, S10

A very affluent suburb located in the Fulwood Ward of the city, known for its attractive Victorian architecture including the impressive St Johns Church. The area was developed principally for the city’s steel magnates and this is reflected in the impressive property designs. Residents of Ranmoor have first class schooling close by, a number of pubs and bars to frequent and those with a love of the outdoors can explore the surrounding countryside via the line of parks that run along the Porter Valley.

NETHER GREEN, S11

Nether Green is a more affordable part of the suburb of Ranmoor situated between the top of Endcliffe Park and the bottom of Tom Lane as it joins Fulwood Road. With more terraced houses here it has a good mixture of young families who appreciate the proximity of the interlinking parks, independent local shops, restaurants and cafes and of course the highly regarded junior school. 

TOTLEY, S17

With two good parks and two ‘outstanding’ schools Totley is very popular with young families. Its situation, on the edge of The Peak District makes it also appeal to those with a love of the outdoors. Dore and Totley Train Station provides a quick and efficient route into the city centre complemented by the regular bus service. The original ‘village’ part of Totley includes charming stone-built period homes and as the area has grown over the years there really is something for everyone in this locality. Large executive style developments rub shoulders with ex local authority housing along with everything in between while the excellent local amenities including the very popular Crown and Cricket Inns ensure there is a great social scene throughout the year.

 

BRADWAY, S17

An ever-popular area for both the young and old with its excellent transport links into the city centre and easy access to the peak district, it has it all. Home to a lovely choice of different types of properties from Bungalows to Detached homes most having glorious views over to the peak district. The local amenities at Bradway are great with a green-grocers, two gift shops, doggy parlour, beauty salon and a Sainsburys local. There are also two golf courses and a driving range where you can hone your swing and a couple of excellent cafés that have Bistro nights for you to enjoy. The Castle restaurant/public house and The Summer House give a good choice for eating and drinking making it tip top for socialising. 

 

KELHAM ISLAND, S3

Kelham Island is fast becoming one of the most fashionable places to live if the recent award by The Academy of Urbanism for 'Best neighbourhood' is anything to go by. This uber fashionable, postindustrial quarter has a super balance of independent catering outlets, boutiques and start-up businesses all set around the timeless appeal of the Victorian architecture and cobbled streets. There is also the added charm of the River Don as it meanders past the various pubs and restaurants giving a pleasant contrast to the areas thriving identity.

 

SHARROWVALE, S11

This thriving and most fashionable of areas offers a host of busy bars, restaurants and boutiques to enjoy along with a seasonal market held four times a year and with its healthy mix of property styles Sharrowvale offers something for everyone. Large villas jostle for space with terraced houses and this is reflected in the resident’s demographic. Families and those with a love of the outdoors will appreciate the scenic walks running along the Porter Brook through two of Sheffield's finest parks out towards the Mayfield Valley. Ideally situated close to the popular lower section of Ecclesall Road with its lively feel and the Hallam Uni campus off Broomgrove Road this is definitely an area to consider when choosing your home.

BROOMHILL, S10

As a sought-after conservation area with a lively feel, Broomhill is the perfect location for families who appreciate a cosmopolitan lifestyle with easy access to an eclectic variety of shops, bars and restaurants and a wealth of leisure, cultural and sporting activities. The situation between the city and the beautiful Peak District is also sure to appeal. WALKLEY, S6

NORTON, S8

Home to Graves Park which is comfortably the largest park in Sheffield alongside the excellent Graves leisure centre which has tennis, cricket, football, swimming and gym facilities. Norton has a great choice of housing stock including properties from the Art Deco period all the way through to brand new housing and you will find something here to fit any budget. Being close to the Sheffield ring road this area is also ideal for access to the motorway network, Dronfield town and the countryside beyond. If shopping is your thing St James Retail park has the lot and there are local shops at the top of Meadowhead where Mitchells Wine Merchants offers fine wines and cigars. 

LODGE MOOR, S10

One of the highest suburbs in the city and commanding fine views over the surrounding countryside which can, in most cases be explored from your own doorstep. Walks around the reservoirs or down the idyllic Wyming Brook can be finished off with a pint in either The Three Merry Lads or The Sportsman. Lodge Moor is also home to Sheffield’s most challenging golf course and both Yoga and Pilates classes are run from the local physio clinic (The White House). Families appreciate the wideopen spaces, highly regarded local nursery/schooling and of course Spider Park where regular boot camps will whip you into shape. Regular bus services whisk you into the city centre via the local shopping parade and Crosspool and residents appreciate stunning sun sets and fresh air direct from the peaks.

WHIRLOW, S11

Situated to the south and west of the city between Ecclesall and Dore Village at the foot of the picturesque Limb Valley, Whirlow is an extremely desirable suburb indeed. Think broad tree lined avenues and impressive detached residences, on predominately large plots set well back from the road. There are very few semi-detached houses in Whirlow and those that do become available tend to attract huge amounts of interest as they represent an affordable way to live in one of Sheffields premium areas. Appropriately the local schooling has also been rated as outstanding in recent Ofsted reports.
